The Static Force
August 9th, 2007 Posted in Motivation, Daily
I realized something profound yet so simple today. My mind was feeling kind of cluttered today. I needed to write posts for my new blog, but I was having a hard time getting started. When I did actually finally start, my mind became focused.
This phenomem fascinates me because most people do not take action because of this fussy or lazy feeling the mind projects. It may come from fear of producing low quality work or maybe just plain laziness. However, it’s a huge problem because you could have just ignored this feeling and just hammered on to the task and done quite well.
The golden rule here it seems is to never make a decision to not do something you need to be doing until after you give it 5 or so minutes of actually doing it. You’ll find that your mind will have completely changed focus and want to help you complete the task at hand. It can turn a lazy or tired mind into a focused mind.
Your mind is just a tool. It needs to be solving problems. It needs challenges. However, you must give it that extra push so the ball starts rolling.
You must overcome the static force.

P.S. Yikes! I told you guys I’d reveal my website yesterday… then today… well I guess it’s tomorrow for sure. I just want to add some more posts to round it out more.

it is not just a tool, it is the greatest tool in the history of the universe! it should be challenged and pushed harder and longer than you ever thought possible - that is the meaning of life.
