First Update and a Brief Background
June 2nd, 2007 Posted in Updates
I’m sitting at Borders in Westwood (Los Angeles) writing my first of what I call updates. This one will be quite lengthy because I hope to get you caught up to where I am today.
I’ll start with a bit of history for those who don’t know me very well. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin on December 2006. Then, I started my full time job at Credera as a technology consultant for mid to large corporations. I quit my job four months into it to venture off on my own.
I am planning to create a company around education. The details of the company aren’t completely worked out yet, but it will centered around making education better through technology. I am not venturing in this alone, as I have a friend and business partner, Aroon. He is an old friend of mine who I started to talk to again in the last few months.
My current plan is to start this business in India. I strongly believe this country will be the best starting point to grow an education company. This is due to how their culture views education, their growing dominance in technology, and their growing economy. It also helps that most educated Indians speak English.
I am currently in Los Angeles right now hanging out with my friend, Aroon. I am helping him wrap up his stuff here. He is finishing classes at UCLA and getting ready to move out of Los Angeles. I will be leaving Los Angeles in a couple of weeks to take care of stuff in Texas. Specificaly, this includes moving my stuff out of my Dallas apartment, resolving Indian VISA and citizenship issues, and getting my shots.
In the meanwhile, I will be enjoying California. The past few days have been very relaxing and laid back. I have been taking care of some errands, enjoying LA’s trendy outdoor malls, and drinking mojitos . Most of what I have been doing is tagging along my friend’s “lifestyle”. It’s been nice, but I am really ready to start working hard on my new company. Hopefully, I will be keeping myself productive in the next couple of weeks while my friend finishes up school.
For my blog, I am working on a new theme and adding a picture gallery pretty soon. A big goal of mine is to keep an active chronicle of my life. I will be able to look back on my day to reflect on everything I did. Was it productive? What did I learn? How can do it better? Another motivational aspect for making a public blog is to hopefully inspire others to live their dream as well.
To sum things up, I am very happy at the moment. I finally feel like I am on the right path in life, and it is a path I am very passionate about. It will lead to continuous growth and give me that deep fulfillment that I seek from life.
As Tynan would say, living life awesome.

After reading the first few lines of your blog, I felt ready to pick up The Alchemist (and I, unfortunately, read suuper slow and thus not that often). If your goal is to inspire people, you are doing a good job of achieving this.
