I just read this awesome post on how color can be a great guide to nutrition.

It’s something you should think about. There is a reason for everything, and there is a reason why fruits and some vegetables are so vibrant in color. It is communicating to us.

It is saying. Look at me! Pay attention! I might be good for you. It stands out in our mind because our minds make it so. It is something that is deep rooted in our survival.

The article is amazing because it lets us simplify our decisions. We are constantly being cluttered with news and advertisement telling us what to do. Most of this is incredibly biased. However, this is one of the few good ones. This generalization will lead to our better health.

My preferred meal, which I know eat everyday is a salad with mostly fruit. Keep in mind that fruit also consists of cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, and avacado. Everytime I make my salad, I admire the beauty of it. It is so vibrant in color. Each fruit or vegetable has it’s unique and subtle flavor. It’s so much more than the salty, oily, and peppery tastes we get in our SAD (Standard American Diet).

Eat more color. (the natural kind, not food coloring)

Beautifully,

Carl Zetterlund

P.S. Make it a game. Start with 1 piece of fruit a day.
